Wandah Gibbs comes to us with extensive experience in community and relationship building. Her career and commitment to Rochester consistently intertwine as reflected in her volunteer and work history. An experienced writer, Dr. Gibbs is Co-Founder, Editor-in-Chief, and Creative Director of an urban-inspired publishing company.

She is a longtime resident of the 19th Ward, and all three of her children attended school in the Rochester City School District. Committed to education and career development, she is currently a member of the Board of Trustees at U-Prep Charter School for Young Men and also a member of the Board of Directors of The Sensible Women Initiative; a nationally recognized mentorship program for young women. She has managed partnerships with Rochester Works, RIT’s Gear-Up Program, the National Society of Black Engineers, Wegmans, RCTV, WXXI, the YMCA of Greater Rochester and many more.

An experienced editor and public relations specialist, Wandah Gibbs is familiar with both journalistic and academic writing. A Newhouse Scholar, she has a Bachelors in Public Relations and International Relations and holds a Masters in Radio, Television & Film Production and Management from the esteemed S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University. She earned her Doctorate in Executive Leadership from Saint John Fisher College in 2016.
